Cabinet Maker Position
Edward Johnson requires an experienced cabinet maker to join his small team at his new workshop in West Sussex. The opportunity is primarily a bench based position making fine furniture both free standing and fitted, often curved and complex in design. Applicants will need excellent hand and machinery skills as well as the ability to problem solve complicated designs. As well as being a competent and fast cabinet maker, it is vital you are a reliable, focused and self motivated individual. Ideally applicants should have at least 3 years experience, however if your ability surpasses your experience please apply.
In conjunction with making furniture, you will be required to do a fair share of general workshop tasks associated with a small workshop environment, from setting and maintaining machines to emptying bins on a weekly basis. Adding to a team of two you will work alongside Edward and another highly skilled cabinet maker Chris Wallis in a 250m², relatively rural workshops near Chichester, kitted out with excellent machines.
The business in now in its 5th year and starting to make strides into the industry, having won a Bespoke Guild Mark and recently winning the Wood Awards in 2013, Edward is focused on running a dynamic business and challenging himself and employees with difficult innovative designs.
