Bespoke Dressing Table/Desk Commission

25th July 2011

Mathew Withington and Miles Hartwell of Splinter Works are currently commissioning Edward Johnson to bring to life their fantastically challenging stiletto shaped desk and/or dressing table. A render of the Stiletto is pictured below and was seen in this month’s product section in Icon.

This truly unique design is an exciting challenge for Edward, calling on all his cabinet making expertise and knowledge. The Stiletto will be handmade using variety of laminating and veneering techniques, using both traditional hand veneering and modern day presses and vacuum bags.  American Burr Walnut will be book matched and veneered up the toe end and curving seamlessly over onto the top. In stark contrast the underside will be veneered in red pressure stained Birds Eye Maple.

The Stiletto is to be exhibited at Decorex 2011 in September.

Keep posted for a regular update of images.
